Senior Graduation Activities

Class of 2021 YEAR-END Information


Save the Dates! With the continuing decline of COVID cases, we can now plan safe outdoor activities for the class of 2021.  Here is a brief outline with dates and details for the end of the year events. We hope to provide the class of 2021 with meaningful and exciting activities!


Baccalaureate, May 30, time/place TBD [This event is not a school-sponsored event]

All Cal High seniors and their families are welcome to this event organized by Cal High parents and students, which the Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church facilitates.  It is an event to reflect on the personal growth and achievements of the seniors.  For more information, please visit the Calhigh2021 website-Baccalaureate. 


Graduation Rehearsal/Ceremony Instructions


Graduation Practices:


June 2nd will be the ONLY date for graduation practice:

3:00pm rehearsal for students who are signed up for the 4pm ceremony

4:30pm rehearsal for students who are signed up for the 7pm ceremony

Teachers will take roll for access period and then release their seniors for the 3pm practice.  Any student who is borrowing a cap/gown will pick it up after their practice.  


Borrowed cap/gown information:

Students who have chosen to borrow a cap and gown may pick them up during graduation practice on June 2nd.



Graduation Ceremonies, June 4, 4 PM & 7 PM

Join us in celebrating the graduating class of 2021.  Due to the necessity of maintaining the County’s social distancing guidelines, we will have TWO graduation ceremonies. Both ceremonies will take place in our stadium.  Seniors and their families are being given the opportunity to sign up for one of the ceremonies. Each student may bring TWO guests. Please note: this event will be live-streamed for those members of our community who may not be able to attend in person. More information on graduation practice and guest tickets will be forthcoming.




Grad Night, June 5, 7:00-10:30 pm, Alameda County Fairgrounds (sponsored by our PTSA)

Fun fair-food, DJ, games, prize drawings, dancing ( following County guidelines), entertainment, and photo-ops! You don’t need to fill a table.Grab a fellow senior!

One last chance to celebrate with your Class of 2021 Grizzlies after graduation but before you start the next phase in your lives!.  Be a part of this Cal High tradition where 80% of the senior class usually joins the fun!.  For more info, visit the webpage.  For tickets, go to the FutureFund Store.  Early bird pricing ends April 19.



Graduation Speaker and Performance Tryouts, April 23

We invite seniors to audition for a three-minute speech or talent of some kind (music or song) to perform during one of the graduation ceremonies. Please complete this form if you are interested in auditioning by Monday, April 19th. 


Cap & Gown delivery dayThursday, April 29, 2:45-3:45pm

A Jostens representative will be in front of the Main Office on Thursday, April 29, 2:45-3:45pm to hand out caps/gowns and graduations announcements.  If you ordered your cap/gown late or haven’t picked up your cap/gown or grad announcements yet, please be sure to pick up your grad items at this time.  This is the only delivery day so all seniors must pick up their items at this time.

For students who have already purchased their cap and gown and have not yet picked them up, they are in the front office along with purchased announcements. 


Senior Movie Night (and maybe food trucks!), April 28, 6-9 pm

Join us for a themed-based evening and outdoor movie night on the new Cal High Big Screen.  This event will be in our quad. Bring your lawn chair and blanket for a fun night of bonding! Stay tuned for more details.


Senior “Ball” May 14, 7:00 - 10:00 pm

Join us for a semi-formal event outside on the Cal High quad.  There will be food, fun, a “mask-erade,” and more. Please stay tuned for more information on tickets and other details.

Adopt-a-Senior, On-going through the end of May (sponsored by our PTSA)

Seniors can sign up to be “adopted” by another parent and receive surprises from the “adoptive parent” until the end of the school year. If you want to have your senior adopted or you want to adopt another senior, you can go to the Cal High Class of 2021 website-Adopt a Senior for instructions.


Lawn Signs, April 17 and 18 (sponsored by our PTSA)

Senior lawn signs will be delivered on April 17 to those who submitted info for delivery.

Senior lawn signs can be picked up on April 18, 11 am-1 pm, at Cal High’s front drive-through for all other seniors.

Senior T-Shirt, Stolls, Pennants Pick Up Day April 22 & 23 2:45-3:45 (Sponsored by ASB Leadership)

We invite you to pick up Senior t-shirts and various other senior items.  This will happen at the windows outside the new Leadership room in T-3 (facing the library) 


Memory Posters, Photos due April 26 (sponsored by our PTSA)

Submit photos to the Cal High PTSA Memory Poster committee to create a poster collage for your senior.  Posters may be displayed at senior activities at school and available for pick-up at the end of the year to give to your senior as a keepsake.  For instructions, go to Class of 2021-Class Activities.



Graduation Pictures

Professional photographers will be on hand during the ceremony. More info to come!



Graduation gowns, tassels, announcements etc.

This is mandatory for those students attending an in-person graduation ceremony.

Those who do NOT have their cap and gown will be able to borrow theirs after this event.
