Work permits

Summer work permits will be processed by the district office beginning June 7, 2021.  You may submit your fully completed work permit worksheet by email to Helen Burrows at  Please note that the form must be completed by all parties, student, parent and employer in order to be processed.  If you are going to be employed by more than one business you will need a work permit for each employer.  The work permit turnaround time is 24 hours.  Due to the high volume of work permit request coming in at this time, the processing turnaround time may take up to 72 hours.

Impact Fellowship

Rising 11th and 12th grade students are encouraged to apply for the Social Impact Project, which introduces students to project-based learning that empowers them to tackle social issues that impact their local community. At the end of the program, the most impactful project will be awarded the $1,000 Growth Mindset Scholarship.

Lily Zhou’s 2022 US Senate Campaign

Lily Zhou is looking for passionate, diligent, hard-working students to apply to join her internship program for her US Senate 2022 Campaign. Throughout this internship, you will learn by doing. No experience or skills required. All that is asked is that you are engaged and ready to learn.  The internship also offers volunteer hours for your efforts, and you’ll gain the opportunity to fulfill the requirements and earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Sole requirement for the internship is attending a weekly Zoom meeting on Sundays from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.

  • Public Relations Interns
    • PR Interns will work closely with the PR Director and assist with the writing of media releases, conducting research, responding to public opinion, and more.
  • Marketing Interns
    • Marketing Interns will work closely with the Marketing Director and assist them with content creation. Your work will include – but not be limited to – preparing social media graphics, videos, monitoring social media platforms, and conducting marketing trends to increase engagement and followers on all social media platforms.
  • Community Outreach Interns
    • CO Interns will engage with community members and organization, recruiting additional members, and building relationships with coalition partners. You will work closely with the Outreach Director and assist them with varying outreach strategies.
  • Journalism Interns
    • Journalism Interns will contribute to the publication of timely and accurate news. A successful intern should be a skilled writer with a passion for informing and entertaining our readers.

Freedom Schools Literacy Academy

The academy is seeking smart, results-oriented go-getters who believe in the power of educational justice and the Freedom School’s mission and instructional model. The program is focused on making our nation’s corps of educators more diverse, more just, and more representative of America’s student body in the 2020s. A large part of their efforts are focused on offering meaningful educator-apprenticeship opportunities to bright, young Black and Brown college and high school students in culturally responsive, affirming and literacy focused academies.

Internship Opportunity w/ Kumar for Congress Campaign

Students can get involved in the community by joining the Kumar for Congress 2022 all-year internship program. There are many opportunities for you to get involved, setting your own schedule, with pandemic work, community work, political campaign work, and activism with specific local challenges. 


Volunteer to be a music or art teacher for younger students.

STEMpower is a volunteer organization that is based in the Bay Area that works with WiSTEM, a club focused on empowering underrepresented students in high school to pursue STEM. Their goal is to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers to be interested in STEM fields through hands-on and engaging workshops.
