You may apply to any CSU school through this site. Also, it has helpful information to assist you in planning for college and provides essential tools to help in the decision-making process.

UC Pathways    

This website will lead you to the UC application including the most up-to-date news on what is happening at the UC. Direct links to individual universities.                 

California Community Colleges  

State web site geared to help you define what is the best course for your education and offers information regarding the hundreds of community colleges within California.                               


ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at one public California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. Use this system if you hope to transfer from a community college to a UC or CSU.


All branches of the military are found here. Very helpful website when exploring what options are available if you have an interest in joining. More information regarding the ASVAB can also be found on this site.

Need a work permit?

Summer work permits will be processed by the district office beginning June 7, 2021.  You may submit your fully completed work permit worksheet by email to Helen Burrows at  Please note that the form must be completed by all parties, student, parent and employer in order to be processed.  If you are going to be employed by more than one business you will need a work permit for each employer.  The work permit turnaround time is 24 hours.  Due to the high volume of work permit request coming in at this time, the processing turnaround time may take up to 72 hours.


  • College Exploration and Information: CSU, UC, private colleges, community colleges, vocational/trade schools, college catalogs, college exploration tools, and more.
  • Military Recruiters: Branches of the military visit on regular basis. Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and Army Reserve. Individual meetings can be scheduled throughout the year as well.
  • Scholarships: Local, state and national application information available in Counseling and posted in Naviance.
  • Financial Aid: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form will enable students to apply for state aid (Cal Grants, A, B, and C) any private colleges require you to complete Financial Aid Form (FAF) along with the FAFSA, forms available in January of each year. Campus scholarships, loan programs, and work-study programs are also available at specific campuses.
  • College Representative Visits: College representatives come to visit Cal High throughout the year. Check out College Visits in Naviance to see who is coming and to register to attend a visit.
  • Jobs & Volunteer Opportunities: The Job Board in the Career Center is updated with opportunities on regular basis.
  • Work Permits: available in the Career Center during the school year.  Please allow 24 hours for processing.
  • Appointments: Personal appointments upon request.
  • Computer: Chromebooks available for homework, scholarship search, college, job search, Naviance help and career assessments.
