FAIRNESS

Hello Grizzlies!  This is Corporal Tong with a word about the Character Counts program here at Cal High.

This month, we’re focusing on the Character pillar of Fairness.  Fairness is making and following an impartial set of rules and applying them equally to everyone. 

Fairness means that everyone plays by the rules.  Fairness is not taking advantage of others who are disadvantaged or ignorant.

A person who is fair is someone who admits and corrects their own mistakes and expects others to do the same.

A powerful quote about this character trait states: “Fairness is never guaranteed, but a person of character will never fail to grant it.” 

Sometimes life is not always fair.  But it is within our power and control to always be fair and just.
