BLOOD DRIVE
The blood drive is coming to Cal High for the second and last time this year!! The blood drive will be taking place on Wednesday, March 31st. Be sure to sign up outside room 114!! You must be 16 or older to sign up. Be a hero and save 3 lives!  (Mantz)
 
MATH TUTORING
Math Tutoring will be on today at lunch in room 211 and Wednesday during Tutorial in room 221. Hope to see you there. (Dillman/Saiki)
 
DIABETES GROUP MEETING
A new group is forming to help those CAL High students who are dealing with diabetes.  The first meeting is planned for Friday, March 19th with the school nurse, Kay Smith, RN.  She’ll be there to answer your questions and facilitate a discussion of issues that matter most to you.  You will need a signed parent permission slip before starting the group, so please stop by the Attendance Desk and ask Mrs. Lynette Scharlach for a form. 
We will meet in the Conference Room near the Health Room during lunch time each Friday.  See you then! (Kay Smith, Nurse)
 
MR. CALI
Senior guys! The due date for Mr. Cali applications is coming up soon. The last day to turn in the applications is Wednesday, March 17th. Please drop them off in Rm. 114, the leadership room. (Mantz)
 
GIRLS’ TENNIS MEETING
There will be a mandatory meeting at the beginning of lunch Thursday, March 11th, in Room 114 for all returning girls’ tennis players and those interested in playing Girls Tennis next fall.   Coach Kal and Coach Laurie will update
you on spring conditioning, summer training and info for fall. They promise to keep it brief!! (Mantz)
 
CHS DANCE CLASS AUDITIONS
Attention all dancers!  Auditions for next year’s CHS dance classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday, March 22nd and 24th in the commons after school from 3:30 – 5:30.  If you still need to earn P.E. and Fine Arts Credit, or are interested in taking a UC approved elective, come to the tryouts.  For more information, please see Mrs. Siegel. (Siegel)
 
MOCK TRIAL
Congratulations to the Mock Trial team for winning the consolation finals and placing third in the county for the second straight year. The defense team defeated Acalanes on Tuesday to finish the season 6-1. In addition to receiving its third place trophy and medals last night at an awards banquet, the team earned 11 individual awards.
Please be sure to congratulate all members of the team as well as these individuals for their accomplishments:
Karishma Pareek – Judge’s Choice Award (This is the highest honor awarded to only 5 students in the county. She’s a freshman, by the way. This is the third straight year a Cal High student earned this honor. The last two were seniors.) Cady DeLano and Shezaf Reif – Judge’s Choice Honorable Mention; Alyssa Briggs – Outstanding Pretrial Motion; Andy Bilich – Outstanding Cross Examination; Lana Zholudeva – Outstanding Closing Argument; Steven Lau – Outstanding Opening Statement and Direct Examination; Ramsey DeLano, Alex Petterson and Nick Fajardo (another freshman) – Outstanding Witness. (Barr)

ADVANCED, HONORS, AP MATH CLASS SIGNUPS
Please drop by room #221 during the first 10 minutes of brunch or lunch to sign up for your fall Advanced, Honors, or AP Math Classes.  Those needing to test for placement also need to sign up.  Testing will take place after school on March 26th in room #221. (Dillman)

Attention Actors and Techies: Auditions and interviews for next year’s Play Production class will be held on March 15th and 16th in FA 106. Actors, please prepare a 2 minute monologue of your choice. SOCIAL STUDIES AP ENTRANCE EXAM
Anyone who needs to take the AP Entrance exam in Social Studies for next year’s classes can sign up in Mr. Doherty’s room 107 today. This includes AP European History, AP U.S. History, AP Government, and AP Economics. (Doherty)
